any info on a Kubota L2550

I have come across a L2550 with 789 hours with loader.It seems to be in pretty good shape it has a hydro tranny 4WD and R4 tires. The asking price was $9,500.Is this a fair price for this tractor? Does anyone have any info on the track record of this model tractor good or bad? Any info or opinion? Thanks Barry

Hi Barry, we have had vey good service and experience with the L2650s and later models. We see very few L2550s. I suggest you test drive and demo the unit with a pto implement to make sure the 2 stage stage clutch (for live pto) is operating properly.While you are doing the demo - what the hour and your wrist watch to assure yourself of the "impression" it offers. Also check for engine "blow bye" (leaking compression into the oil pan.) . During the past six + months some board readers have expressed difficulty doing major engine rebuild with this model. They may be able to offer more and better advice about this issue. When yoy say "hydr tranny", what do you mean ? The low hrs and price are attractive. Good luck, happy trails and best wishes. ....
